BRIEF BIO DATA OF THE KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

Prof. Dr. Benson A. Mulemi


Prof. dr. Benson A. Mulemi is an Associate Professor of Anthropology and Research in Social Sciences. He holds the PhD degree in Social Sciences with a concentration in Medical Anthropology from the University of Amsterdam, Netherlands. He is an independent scholar ; a community  fellow at the African Studies Centre, Leiden University, Netherlands and member of the  Wellcome Trust Medical Humanities Advisory Group. He has served as a Research Associate at the Center for the Advancement of Scholarship, University of Pretoria, South Africa, and an expert with the European Research Executive Agency of the European Commission. He was a 2023 Leeds Arts and Humanities Research Institute / Leeds University Centre of African Studies Virtual Fellow 2023, of Leeds university, UK. He was a Visiting Research Fellow/scholar at Cambridge University the Centre of African Studies and Wolfson College, successively supported by the British Academy and the A G Leventis Foundation and the Smuts Memorial Fund. Prof. Mulemi was a Research Coordinator in the Directorate of Research, Innovation and Graduate Studies; Director of the Directorate, and Acting DVC, of the Research Innovation and Partnership Division at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA). He was the CUEA manager of the African Higher Education Leadership in Advancing Inclusive, Innovation for Development project, co-funded by the Erasmus + Programme of the European Union.
